Devlog 10

Devlog #10– Preparing for Full Release: Visual Upgrades, Stat Tweaks, Post-Launch Plans

Legend of the Hero Slime is on track for full release at the end of May. As we approach the finish line, this final devlog covers all the key updates made since public testing, as well as what’s coming next after launch.

Visual Updates

A final round of polish has been applied across the board:

  • Improved Lighting & Shaders: Environments now have more depth and atmosphere, especially in dungeons and boss arenas.
  • UI Enhancements: Menus, health bars, and quest markers are cleaner and easier to read.
  • Animation Tweaks: The player slime now moves with smoother, bouncier motion, and attack animations have been refined.
  • Newly Added environmental details

Stat & Gameplay Balance

Player feedback from the test builds has been instrumental in shaping the game’s final feel:

  • Enemy AI Adjustments: Enemy patterns have been made more readable, with improved pacing in early levels.
  • Damage Balancing: Player and enemy damage values were tuned for a more consistent combat rhythm.
  • Ability Cooldowns: Reduced for most active abilities to make combat more dynamic and allow more experimentation.

New Hats Added

The game now features five new unlockable hats:

  • Chef Hat
  • Sleep Cap
  • Top Hat
  • Combat Helmet
  • Chiptune Headphones

All are tied to secrets, quests, or optional challenges. More hats and customizations are planned post-launch.

Post-Launch Plans

Once the full game is out, development will continue with additional content and quality-of-life updates:

  • Fire and Ice Dungeons: These optional dungeons will unlock shortly after release, expanding both the world and the lore.
  • Challenge Modes: A battle gauntlet and timed challenge mode are planned for a future update.
  • Cosmetics and Extras: New hats, color swaps, and visual effects are already in development.
  • Patches and Fixes: Bug reports and balance feedback will be addressed in regular updates.

Save Transfers

Progress from the public test builds will carry over to the final release. If you’ve already started your adventure, you won’t lose anything.

Thanks again to everyone who’s followed development and provided feedback. The full release is just around the corner, and I can’t wait to share the complete experience with you.

See you at launch.
