Devlog 6: Welcome Back, Slime Lime Enthusiasts!

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the sixth devlog for our slime-filled adventure. Development has been progressing steadily, and there are many exciting updates to share. Let’s go over all the new additions and improvements that have been made.

Ice Dungeon Complete!

The Ice Dungeon is now fully completed and ready for players to explore. Progressing through this dungeon requires players to find and collect three keys, which will unlock the door leading to the grand hall. Within the grand hall, players will face the Ice Queen, a formidable boss with a unique defensive mechanic. She is protected by an ice shield that blocks incoming attacks, making it impossible to damage her directly. Throughout the battle, she will fire ice shots at the player, restricting movement and increasing the challenge. To overcome this encounter, players must find a way to melt her shield before they can successfully deal damage and defeat her.

A Growing Village

The village has received a significant update, making it feel much more alive and dynamic. As players progress through the game, the village will gradually become more populated with NPCs. These characters will not only enhance the atmosphere but also serve as valuable sources of information. They will provide details on upcoming bosses, dungeons, and the lore of the land, helping to immerse players further into the world. The village will continue to evolve, reflecting the player's progress and making it feel like an integral part of the adventure.

New Library and Hat Shop

Two new locations have been added to expand the game’s worldbuilding and customization options.

  • Library: This new area serves as a hub of knowledge, where players can delve deeper into the history and lore of the world. It will provide additional context about the game's setting, major events, and legendary figures, enriching the player's experience.

  • Hat Shop: The game’s customization system has been adjusted, and the previous ticket system has been removed. Instead, players can now visit the Hat Shop to purchase headwear and accessories for their slime. To make obtaining these customizations more accessible, the training room has been repurposed as a way for players to grind gold. If a level proves too difficult, players can use the training room to improve their skills and earn currency to upgrade their abilities or acquire new items.

Fire Champion Rises!

The Fire Champion has been fully developed and is ready for battle. This powerful opponent brings a high-energy combat encounter, using brute force and fire-based attacks to challenge the player. The Fire Champion fights using massive fists, punching the arena to create devastating shockwaves that must be avoided. Additionally, fireballs will rain down throughout the fight, adding another layer of difficulty. Players will need to stay alert, move strategically, and find the right openings to land successful attacks against this imposing foe.

Next Up: The Fire Arena and the Lich Boss

With the Fire Champion completed, the next major task is the completion of the Fire Arena. This section will feature waves of enemies that players must defeat in order to advance. Once the Fire Arena is finalized, development will shift toward the creation of the Lich Boss. As the final major boss in the game’s main story, the Lich will provide a climactic challenge that will push players to their limits. More details about this encounter will be shared in the next devlog.

Beta Release and Gameplay Video

With all the recent progress, the game is on track for its beta release. The beta version will be available to play by the 19th, allowing players to experience the full game up to this point. In addition, a full gameplay video will be released, showcasing all of the completed content and mechanics. This will provide a preview of what players can expect and highlight the progress made in development.
