Devlog 9 - The Full Beta is Here! Time to Test & Give Feedback!


Hello, Slime Heroes! 

The full beta of Legend of the Hero Slime is finally ready! This marks a huge milestone, with all core content now in place, meaning you can play the game from start to finish. Now, I need your help to make it even better!

This beta features major improvements, including smarter AI, a reworked Lich fight, and the long-awaited beginning and final cutscenes—bringing the world and story to life like never before.

Your feedback is essential as I move into the final development stage. Please test the game and share your thoughts in the official survey!

I’ve set up a Google Forms survey where you can submit your thoughts on combat, puzzles, bosses, balance, and anything else that stands out. Every bit of feedback helps fine-tune the experience!

Now, let’s talk about what’s new in this beta!

Major Beta Changes & Fixes

 New Cutscenes - Beginning & Final Scenes Added!

  • The game now opens with a fully animated introduction, setting up the world and your slime hero’s journey.
  • The final cutscene is now in place, rewarding players with a proper conclusion to their adventure!
  • These scenes help bring more depth to the story and immerse players in the world of Legend of the Hero Slime.

The Lich Boss - Now a Timed Battle!

  • The Lich fight has been reworked into a race against time. If you don’t defeat him before all the orbs are activated, you lose.
  • The Lich can move through walls, so you’ll need to stay mobile and adapt quickly!
  • This makes the fight more intense, requiring careful attack timing and positioning to succeed.

 Enemy AI Improvements

  • Enemy pathfinding and attack behavior have been significantly improved, making fights more engaging.
  • Enemies will now react more dynamically to player actions, forcing you to adapt your strategies.
  • Smarter AI means tougher but fairer battles, improving the overall combat experience.

 Level 1-2 Push Block Change

  • You must now defeat the enemy on the island before accessing the push block puzzle.
  • This prevents skipping combat and ensures a smoother puzzle-combat progression flow.

 Ice Boss Adjustments (Possible Change!)

  • I’m considering giving the Ice Boss a longer attack window so players have more time to hit her.
  • There might also be a longer delay before she attacks again, making the fight more balanced.
  • This is not final! I’ll be watching feedback to decide if these changes should stay.

 Shop Price Adjustments - Your Feedback Decides!

  • Many players have mentioned that some shop prices feel unbalanced, so I will be adjusting them based on beta feedback.
  • If you think items are too expensive or too cheap, let me know in the survey!

 Upcoming Updates

This beta is a huge step forward, but there’s still more to refine before the final release. Here’s what’s coming next:

Visual Enhancements – Improving animations, effects, and environmental details to make everything look smoother and more polished.   Bug Fixes – Squashing any remaining glitches to ensure a seamless experience.   More Hats!  – New collectible hats to reward exploration and customization!   Balancing & Difficulty Tweaks – Adjusting enemy difficulty, boss mechanics, and game progression based on player feedback.

 Final Thoughts

This beta marks the final phase of development, and your feedback is what will make Legend of the Hero Slime the best it can be! Every comment, suggestion, or bug report helps refine the game and bring it closer to perfection.
