Welcome back, slime enthusiasts, to the fifth devlog for Legend of the Hero Slime! I’m thrilled to share that World 1 is now complete and ready for public testing! This is a massive milestone, and I can’t wait for players to dive in, explore, and experience the first chapter of this slime-filled adventure. Let’s break it all down!
World 1 – A Fully Realized Adventure
After months of hard work, World 1 is finally playable from start to finish. This world introduces the core mechanics, sets the tone for the story, and delivers a mix of exploration, combat, and puzzles. It’s designed to ease players into the game while still offering plenty of challenges. And the best part? All progress from this public test will carry over to the full release!
What’s in World 1?
Here’s a detailed look at what players can expect:
Level 1-1 – The Basics
Purpose: This level is all about teaching the essentials. Players will learn movement, basic combat (using the blade), and key mechanics like key doors, battle doors, and fire interaction.

The Beast Village – The Heart of World 1
Role: This is the central hub of World 1, where players will meet NPCs, receive quests, and uncover lore about the world.
Key Quest: Players are tasked with defeating the boss of the forest, a pivotal moment that drives the story forward.

Level 1-2 – Puzzle Solving with Blocks
Gameplay: Players will push blocks to create bridges and open paths, introducing environmental puzzles that test logic and spatial awareness.
Challenge: This level ramps up the difficulty slightly, encouraging players to think strategically.
Level 1-3 – Lost in the Fog
Atmosphere: A fog-covered maze adds a layer of mystery and tension.
Mechanics: Players must rely on environmental clues and story stones to navigate. These stones also share lore about the Sword Hero and the forest’s history, enriching the worldbuilding.
Immersion: The fog mechanic creates a sense of discovery and keeps players on their toes.
The First Boss – The Serpent’s Challenge
Design: The Snake Boss introduces a unique mechanic—a light indicator that reveals its next move. Players must observe carefully and react quickly to succeed.
Strategy: At the end of the journey, players will face off against the Snake Boss. This fight emphasizes precise timing and keen observation, rewarding players who can anticipate movements and react accordingly. It serves as an introduction to more complex boss encounters, ensuring players develop the skills needed for greater challenges ahead.
Reward: Defeating the boss grants the first emblem and unlocks the slime shot ability, a game-changing power that opens up new possibilities.
Post-Boss – New Powers and Dungeons
Unlocks: With the slime shot ability, players can access two new dungeons in the Beast Village: Fire and Ice. These areas introduce fresh challenges and expand the gameplay.
Progression: This marks the beginning of the next major adventure, ensuring players have plenty to look forward to.
Public Testing – Your Chance to Play!
World 1 is now ready for public testing! This is a huge opportunity for players to:
Explore the levels and mechanics.
Provide feedback to help shape the final game.
Get a head start, as all progress will carry over to the full release.

What’s Next?
With World 1 complete, the focus now shifts to expanding the adventure and introducing even more exciting content. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:
Ice Castle Dungeon
Theme: A frozen fortress filled with icy challenges and treacherous terrain.
Boss: The Ice Shield Boss, a formidable foe who uses a protective ice shield. Defeating this boss will hint at the new ability players will unlock later in the game.
Puzzles: Expect frosty puzzles that require clever use of the slime’s abilities, including the slime shot and potentially new powers.
Fire Dungeon – The Tournament of Flames
Gameplay: This dungeon will be combat-focused, acting as a fiery tournament where players face waves of enemies.
Structure: Players will battle through increasingly difficult rounds, culminating in a showdown with the Fire Champ, a powerful enemy with unique attack patterns.
Rewards: Victory here will grant players access to new upgrades or abilities, making it a must-visit for those looking to strengthen their slime.
New Enemy Types
Ice Enemies: snow launch, Snow Lancers, and frozen guardians will test players’ combat skills in the Ice Castle.
Fire Enemies: Golm, Flammers, Hammer undead
Variety: Each enemy type will have unique behaviors and weaknesses, encouraging players to adapt their strategies.
The Hat Room (Under the Home Tab)
Feature: A fun and customizable addition where players can collect and equip different hats for their slime.
Unlocks: Hats can be earned by completing challenges, finding hidden collectibles, or defeating bosses. Some hats may even grant small gameplay bonuses!
Personalisation: This room adds a layer of charm and personality to the game, letting players express their style.
Training Hall (Under the Home Tab)
Purpose: A dedicated space for players to practice combat, test abilities, and refine their skills.
Features:
Two mini-games to gain gold,potentially replaced for tickets for hats/ to pay for upgrades.
Dodge and Grab: You have to dodge the fireballs which take away 50 points while you collect wind orbs for 100 points
Dummy Hunt: You have to hit dummies which is pop up around the room before disappearing again for points.
Final Thoughts
The journey is just beginning, and there’s so much more to explore in Legend of the Hero Slime. From the icy depths of the Ice Castle to the fiery trials of the Fire Dungeon, every new area will bring fresh challenges, rewards, and stories. I can’t wait to see how players tackle these new adventures and make the slime their own.
